Ah, nostalgia. It would sure be nice if the railroad was still four tracks wide there (much as I admired L. Stanley Crane, he WAS way too much of a cheapskate, and did way too much removal of infrastructure), and it would be REALLY nice if everybody was still friendly in this post-911 world. On the other hand, at the time of this photo, the railroads in the northeast were losing bundles of money, the track wasn't being properly maintained and was falling apart, and the vast majority of railroads in the northeast were already in, or would within a year or three be in, bankruptcy. So there is that.
