Santa Fe didn't seem to ever take much care of pride when respraying those pilots. I find it interesting to see such common sloppiness from a highly regarded railroad. Most railfans are quick to point out how the "good old days" were better than the present, but do people tend to remember things how they want? In speaking with employees of those once great roads, they purposely eroded the quality of their passenger services to drive away demand. They were then able to present a case to the ICC that it was no longer essential service, and we all know the result of the shenanigans was...

The AT&SF war bonnet F's and E's being my all-time favorite locomotive and railroad, I at first took exception to Matt's comments - but sadly, he is right. Still like the shot though Bill. Thanks
