Santa Fe didn't seem to ever take much care of pride when respraying those pilots. I find it interesting to see such common sloppiness from a highly regarded railroad. Most railfans are quick to point out how the "good old days" were better than the present, but do people tend to remember things how they want? In speaking with employees of those once great roads, they purposely eroded the quality of their passenger services to drive away demand.
