The confusion is understandable. This was an SDP-45 rebuilt after a wreck into a SD45-2. At last check she’s still running on MRL.

I received a Member Contact from axm11... providing the following information regarding CR 6688: This unit, CR 6688 was indeed once an EMD SDP45. It initially served the Erie Lackawanna as EL 3657 and was wrecked at Windham Ohio in 11-1973 along with EL 3667. Both units were sent back to EMD for repairs and emerged looking sort of like a blend of an SDP45 and a SD45-2. Thank you for the clarification.
