Periodically rumors arise that MBTA ( the regional Commuter Authority) is planning to re-activate this station as a commuter only stop on their Boston - Providence route. Amtrak trains pass beneath the station frequently, but it would make no sense for them to ever stop here, as Pawtucket is VERY near to the existing Providence stop. One can only hope MBTA eventually takes action on this as the area could use better transportation links to Boston and other economically vibrant suburbs. An on-line search for this station can generate interior views of when the station was new.
