Makes it look like a maid of all work mail/express/passenger operation from the days when railroads handled mail and express in the days before Amtrak.

Rare to see the F40's running back to back. Amtrak tended to run elephant style.

I wonder what the left hand tracks were looping around to have such a bow in them? Also notice the Dwarf on stilts, just ahead of the crossover.

As to the looping tracks, they probably went around a tower, or support at some point.
