Last I checked, soda cans were aluminum, not steel.

Its going to be a sad day when these are gone. I always enjoyed running these down south in the swamps of Louisiana, all doors and windows wide open just to get a little air in!

These things used to throw me because I would use the drive trucks as initial identifying marks, so at a distance I would think they were EMD until I took a look at the rest of the locomotive. That used to be a minor irritation over 20 years ago but now a welcome sight as these become more and more rare.
