I was a disaster project specialist for Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management during the 2008 flood. The big difference between this picture and 2008 is the Santa Fe depot has been completely raised. In 2008, FEMA had project worksheets for four projects shown in this photo - both depots, the park on the left and the building on the left. Three more close to the edge of the photo would have been the Santa Fe steam locomotive, the old fort and the marina. For awhile, the North Lee County Historical Society had a flood museum in one of the Santa Fe buildings. The track was also raised in 2008.

The tracks are just high enough! What speed are trains allowed under these conditions?

Fort Madison? This looks more like Port Madison!
