back the clock to a year like 1944 and replace the diesels with a 3776 Clsss 4-8-4 assisted by one of the 1700 Class 2-8-8-2 Mallets purchased from the Norfolk and Western, it would be great to see the smoke and listen to the exhaust and maybe even move a little closer to feel the ground shake as the two behemoths hauled a heavy troop train up the 3.4 percent grade to the tunnels. Of course we'd have to do without our digital cameras and color film, but wouldn't it all be worth it?
