Finding a seat in one of those E-L long-distance coaches would certainly be preferable to a seat in one of the ancient PRR P-70s. I imagine they were the first cars to be full when loading.

If I had known EL coaches had made it to the Valpo dummy I had forgotten.

There must be more to this story. I've never seen so many cars on the VALPO train, let alone hand-me-downs from the Phoebe Snow. Also, why are passengers walking along the tracks where there is no platform?

One of the Valpo locals ran with four cars and the other with eight cars prior to Amtrak operation of these trains.
