When I was stationed here in Portland 1969-70, the Portland Terminal RR would use this track to transfer cars to the Grand Trunk, normally LATE at night, using one or more of their ALCO switchers. Commercial Street had a number of "sailor's bars" in those days, and after having "a few too many" you had to watch out for the Portland Terminal trains that seemed to run right around midnight. Now the area has all been "gentrified" and I don't believe the street trackage is used any more.
