What Bob Kise said - "ditto"! I'm guessing that tunnel on the right is from the original railroad right-of-way alignment? If so, no wonder the line was realigned...that AC4400 would DEFINATELY not fit through that bore! :-) Needless to say, neither would the whole train with rolling stock growing in size over the centuries as well! I like this one Matt, you caught a good one here!

Some info on the tunnel; Overview - Abandoned tunnel near Whiteside, TN on Raccoon Mountain on former alignment of the Nashville & Chattanooga Railroad, later NC&St.L, L&N, and CSX Location - Hamilton County, Tennessee Status - Abandoned History - Was built in 1858 by the Nashville & Chattanooga Railroad. It was bypassed by a double track cut to the south of it in 1911. Railroads - CSX Railroad (CSX) & Nashville & Chattanooga Railroad Dimensions - Total length: 400.0 ft. Also called - Raccoon Mountain Tunnel
