It's interesting that the wye has been disconnected on one leg.

Not sure why. But the only thing its used for now is the ARZC interchange, where the ARZC runs west to Castle Hot Springs. The BNSF also uses it for meets, the train will nose in onto the AZRC. Then back out back onto the BNSF. The train in the photo had just completed that move.
