Amazing shot Mike! I sure hope the rest don't get scrapped. I also hope they keep their cabs. The EMD SD70ACe cab doesn't look bad, but the cab shown here is much better. Thanks again Mike. Especially for posting a picture of one of my favorite locomotives.

John, the Sd70ACu units CP is getting are getting new cabs, like an Sd70ACe from what I hear. Other than that, they have new electrics, and a full rebuild top to bottom.

Apparently the plan is to use the 30 for a while and determine if they're good enough to warrant rebuilding the remaining 28 or so, so hope is not lost for the ones not currently being rebuilt

I wouldn’t be surprised if CP uses them as a kind of “ready fleet”, have them in storage but in a way that they only need a few things to be ready to go in service again. That way, if their is an unexpected surge in traffic, they have high horsepower units ready and waiting.
