Why does everyone mark this as a Illinois Central train when it is clearly a Canadian National train?

The locomotives and cars are registered by their reporting marks, therefore these units are the IC 6263 and DMIR 407 regardless of paint. You can see many examples of this on CN, UP, and CP, for example.

So, is Illinois Central a subsidiary of Canadian National? Or did the IC buy CN locomotives that have not been repainted. Or, perhaps IC is using foreign power in the form of CN SD40-2s?
