Yep, at every grade crossing gate I have to wait at I think about how close to the rails the gates are and what would happen if an auto rack went sideways. And then I imagine how many people would try to drive around the gates if the gates were a hopper car length or so back from the rails instead of as close as they are now with as many people as already drive around them.
