It looks as if it had a clearance problem. The containers look like they were folded by forces along the top like they hit something.

It looks like your right Paul, but what did they hit? It appears to be wide open country by what you see in the photo. Can anyone else shed any light on this?

After looking at your other photos of the same event I noticed some containers were leaning as if a passing train had a shifted load that tore open the bottom containers allowing the top ones to bend and fall, etc. A clearance problem but to the side...
