Even though it makes a nice image this situation mostly brings to mind the phrase drainage failure.

I think those are actually rebuilt GP35s, not GP39s. Santa Fe only had GP39-2s, and those would have snowplows and longer steps.

That is correct, those do appear to be GP35s.
