In 1975 we asked the yardmaster in Portland if we could photograph the C-636s. He said “sure, they’re stored down in the yard. I wish they stored at the bottom of the river”.

I remember talking to some old heads on one of my student trips. I don't even remember what brought it up, but the engineer commented about the Alcos, saying the "only good thing about them was the heater."
