I've always been skeptical of those comments that say a picture looks like a a scene on an HO layout, but I can safely say that this most certainly looks like an HO scale model! Maybe it's the "cleanliness" of the scene that makes it look more model than real. Thanks for sharing Greg!

My great uncle worked at the NFDL shops for 43 years and was the lead painter for everything that passed through the shops. He retired the year this photo was taken. These cars are in part of the paint shop where the dust and dirt had to be kept under control.

Kodachrome 64, no filter. I think this was during the Soo Line Convention. Things were probably cleaner than usual

When you see the paint bleed on the SOO LINE letters, it somehow gives license to the cheaper models.
