Are you positive that's the symbol? My friend saw the same train heading out of Fort Lewis in Washington with the symbol FTLDPA-23.

@nickrailfan - Where'd your friend get that symbol from? Must have been the BNSF symbol since these trains started on BNSF, then were handed over to the UP with their power used as through-power. FTL is indeed the correct abbreviation for Fort Lewis...DPA doesn't show in the BNSF system as an active destination, however. The symbol I have listed is the UP symbol for this day of switching and was verbally spoken from the train crew to dispatcher.

Yes, my friend got it from the BNSF. Makes sense that the symbol is UP.
