First car behind the locomotives is the former Delaware and Hudson lounge car "Champlain," originally built for the Chesapeake and Ohio but sold before completion to the Rio Grande. It came to the D&H in late 1967. When Mellon and Company jettisoned the D&H, the car somehow magically remained in Guilford's possession.
