Do you know what year it bit the dust? I always came past here having a general idea of where it was, but it's nice to see a picture of it from the Route 61 angle before it was gone.

My best guess is that Conrail demolished it sometime in the late 1980's, prior to the sale of the line to the R&N in 1990.

It was around in the early R&N but not long after the sale.

Nice chunk of Nostalgia there - great catch, Doug! Shame the station was demolished, added some character and heritage to the town. Great to see George Hart's 4-6-0 No. 972 in action, and on the main away from her Jim Thorpe stomping grounds. The station is gone, and the jury's out whether or not No. 972 survives - here she is sitting at Strasburg awaiting her fate.
