Am guessing that is a heater car over by roundhouse. Lighting suggests an overcast day.

You can almost smell the motor oil smell from these pre-EPA days. It's amazing how oil soaked everything was back then.

We'll never know, but it WOULD be interesting to hear the story of how that Erie F ended up on a Rock Island train in Minnesota, back when run-throughs were certainly NOT as common as they are now.
