What a great location in the air to view the marvelous Tehachapi loop. I assume this was taken with a drone. This one of the best shots I have ever seen in this area. Thanks for posting this beauty, and best regards.

Actually we did it the old fashioned way, from a real airplane! Its a little tricky maneuvering within the confines of the valley but we got pretty lucky with the timing. Thank you for your kind comments.

Duncan, this is one super fantastic shot !! Well done. Other than the visible DPUs rear of train, were there mid-train DPU ? Couldn't quite spot one. You have captured one of the very rare photos of a LONG train covering bottom to top of the loops . Thank you

Only BNSF's big grain train and UP's southbound Q trains run with helpers cut in the middle.
