Still appears to be a operations bottleneck, with all the curvature involved.

I'm a Tacoma native and I love this shot. The new trestle is much nicer than the old one and being that the trains must slow down for the station anyway, I don't see it as a bottleneck...Snod

IF freights use the line - the curvature creates a bottleneck. If the line is passenger only then the station stop would ease the level of restriction.

Its mostly Sounder and Amtrak. Tacoma Rail sends Freights up "the Gulch" every few days, but with grades of 3.3% the freights are slow going anyway.
