Is this location east or west of the Horseshoe Curve? If I were to guess, it's just west of the 'Curve'.

I believe it's southwest of the curve and that's PA route 22 below right.

Jeff--this is west of the Curve. The signals on the Curve are 241 (milepost 241.7) and 242 (milepost 242.5). MG is milepost 243.5, and this signal is 242 (milepost 242.5).

The road in the valley below is Sugar Run Road. US 22 is higher up to the right out of frame. The turn off and dirt road with the power lines is the NS access road to MG tower, which is usually gated off. While it's the 'easy way' to get to MG, it's also the best way to get a fine. Don't do it.

A bit more on making this series. The 242 signal and MG are both over 400 feet from the valley floor. FAA regulations limit model aircraft and drones to 400 feet, but that's relative to the terrain directly below the aircraft. The trick is either setting the limit higher than 400 from where you take off from and staying under 400 feet relative to the ground or taking off somewhere higher up and doing the same. Those power lines cause a good bit of interference, so it was better to the the latter. Just something to keep in mind for other plastic copter railfans
