I thought railroad tracks in El Centro were abandoned. Is the UP using them now? It is interesting that this SD70M has not been well maintained.

John Westfield, the tracks are very much still in use. This is part of the UP Calexico Sub that runs from Calexico Ca north to Niland Ca. Here it connects to the main line UP Yuma Sub. From El Centro you can also find the UP El Centro Sub that runs west to Plaster City. The UP runs a manifest train from El Centro to Colton Ca 4 times a week if I remember correctly.
