How many track workers does it take to push open a swing bridge? 29+?

Question becomes - How many men does it take to open a drawbridge. By my count 34.

I think opening it is actually the easy part. It's getting it to close properly, with the bridge aligned correctly, the miter rails all lined up and closed correctly, the bridge locked into position, and the signals working is where the fun starts.

Never going to work for a true high speed line.

This would be great in HO scale.

I suspect in the PRR pre-electrified days it was a one man operation.

Because the bridge is opened so infrequently the rails are bolted together instead of being able to open automatically. This allows 90mph operation and reduces the maintenance cost. This requires a full track gang to open and close the bridge.
