You can also see ex-PRR E8 5744 sitting in the shop slowly but surly under restoration. It will be painted IC colors to match the passenger cars at the museum

Now you see why most older locomotive engineers have crook backs. Its from the years early during their careers when they spent long night-shifts in those uncomfortable bloody seats that first-generation diesels had. I spent years working in EMD G12 and G22 locomotives in New Zealand, so I've got a bad back. I'm still working as a locomotive engineer after almost 41 years though, although the locomotives we operate these days have Rolls-Royce seats compared to what we put up with when I was starting out.
