And that "branch line" was part of the main line of a railroad that the Santa Fe acquired as part of their construction of their Kansas City to Chicago main, with the segment from Ancona to the Chicago area being upgraded and becoming part of the Santa Fe main and the rest becoming the "branch line" you mentioned.
