Those ADIRONDACK RS's were CLASSIC locomotives when resplendent in their dark green and gold. That was another idea that SHOULD have worked, and DID "for a while." I fondly recall riding the "Olympic Service" round-trip between Saranac Lake & Utica. You were not allowed to go beyond Saranac Lake into Lake Placid without having specific event tickets. "Olympic Service" trains carried a full dining car both directions.
