At the point at which you took the picture, the river is actually the Salmon Falls River, which is a tributary of the Piscataqua River. Nice photo. I lived in that area for a while, enjoyed watching many trains there. Will soon be located in E. Kingston, NH, one house down from the main line. Woohoo!
