Word is that these train sets are to be leased by California for use on the Pacific Surfliner b/w San Diego & San Luis Obispo.

Way to go Scott Walker. Now instead of having a working facility that's providing jobs to a city and making something your people could use, you throw those jobs out the window and your people don't get to use the perfectly good trains that were produced.

As hideous as these are the paint scheme and the cars resembles a modern version of Mater... Compare here. Best bet - scrap 'em! At least the cab cars, the passenger cars can be salvaged with new an actually safe and appealing cab cars.

Im sorry to hear that they are going back into service. These are the most "BUTT UGLY"trains to ever turn a flanged wheel.
