Back when Amtrak got the P42's I was riding with an old Amtrak Engineer on a special and it was my first time on one of the new units......as I remarked regarding all the fancy gadgetry on the locomotive the Engineer said to me "Nothing but the best for the US Taxpayer!"

Matt, the heat on those back caps need to be turned down! Those K5LA's sound flat and ugly whenever they're on. Be nice if MP started boring the 4 bell again to produce the correct note. That's the only bell that doesn't play the correct note on the raised letters. I'd gladly retune them myself! The 1 and 5 bells could use a base restrictor as well as they're overblowing and sound harsh.
