What a monster! I always think part of the attraction of trains is the fact that they are essentially man-made 'dinosaurs', the largest and most extreme things to move around on the surface of our planet...these big GE's certainly fit that description. Very nice shot with the human element adding some scale/context.

Southern Pacific bought some of these puppies, also. I recall some railfans saying the cab nose was reminiscent of the SP cab-forward steam locos.
