Interesting routing seems like a round about route from Galveston to Garden city, wonder if all the rain in TX had anything to do with it.

Great catch! I'm surprised there are any BNSF crews qualified on the line anymore. Perhaps they had an Amtrak pilot?

I recognized both the names of the conductor and the engineer from previous runs down Raton, so there were qualified guys on board. I would imagine a Road Foreman or Superintendent would ride with an unqualified crew if the case arose.
