I'm a "self respecting railroad photographer" and have never been to California once to photograph trains. So your theory is debunked.

Great shot, Dave! It's been over 30 years since my first visit to Sullivan's curve, but I still remember the great feeling of seeing in person the iconic location that I had viewed countless times in the pages of Trains Magazine. It truly should be on every self-respecting photographer's bucket list.

A serendipitous catch! I agree - every railfan should make his or her way to Cajon to enjoy the numerous trains working hard to climb the scenic grade cut through the mountains over a century ago.
