Ahh, remember those days, lived in VA Beach in that era. Remember seeing some 4 axle Alcos in NW black where when sun angle was right you could see edges of Nickel Plate lettering and stripes which had not been sanded off before NW paint applied.

I was born in Norfolk, Va.and spent much time photographing these unique units. Numbers 1135 thru 1139 had reused Trainmaster trucks, given them a very brutish appearance. Lamberts Point was a haven for Alco four and six axle locomotives during most of the 1980's. They are missed.
