How does the C30-S7N differ from a regular C30-7?

To answer you question, the Super 7's were made from recycled Dash-7 parts & universal components. The Mexican Railroad used some of these & were so impressed they ordered a fleet of new locomotives. These were made with new state of the art parts from Dash-8's. They produced 3,000 HP these are the S7N30C's (C30-S7N). So basically this locomotive is a Super 7 with Dash-8 parts & components. The C30-7's were made with Dash-7 parts & components. I hope this helps. -Matt
