Forgive me for asking but: I've heard previously of locomotives being "downgraded to helper service". I've seen brand new Kansas City Southern locomotives mid-train in coal drags over that railroad's Heavener subdivision which traverses the Ozark and Boston Mountains. Is this unusual to have a brand-new locomotive in this type of duty?
