3039 is a EMD GP40X.

Hi!
Beautiful photo, but this locomotive is actually a GP40X, originally ATSF #3809.

That's a GP 40X built in May 1978 for AT&SF on order 776054 from EMD.

Very nice but 3039 is a GP40X built in 1978, one of only ten for the ATSF. Very rare.

To get the class right you need to get the BNSF list not the ATSF list, still a good photo.

Nice Shot! But this is a GP40X, not a GP20.

Hi!
This is indeed a GP40X, not a GP50. The GP40X had flared radiators, as evidenced by the radiator section continuing into the dynamic brake blister. If this were a GP50, the dynamic brakes would have a taper at the rear as well.

Should have added a very nice photo that beautifully illustrates the flared radiators on this loco and a spotting feature of the GP40X: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=417639

Thanks to all for setting me straight. I'm not very good at identifying locomotives. See you trackside, Chris
