Great shot, TL. Makes me want to cry - I got my first 'real' camera in Spring 1973, but limited money and time kept me from getting to GA to shoot the Southern Alcos, which were pretty much gone from AL by very early 1970s. Would love to know location.

Awesome shot and must have sounded fantastic! If there was modern power on the point of this train it could easily pass for today.

Looks to be behind Atlantic Steel at the Mecaslin St crossing going south on the Piedmont Division, those RS3s must have sounded awesome working up Birmont Hill!
