Sad story of yet another railway line out of use. These coaches do not look particularly like BR ones. Have they been heavily modified? I live in Scotland and have never seen anything similar.

Thanks for the information Martin. This certainly makes an interesting story. I had no idea that the Mk 2 carriages had been sold off. We now have mainly multiple units and HST 125s here and it would be great to have loco-hauled passenger trains again!
