Great contrast of machines and nice presentation. Thanks for the info on the Daniel Nason; I did not know. He must be a relation to William Mason.

Locomotives like the Daniel Nason, with inside running gear, were also sometimes known as "Dutch Wagons." This particular locomotive is special to me. It was the first real steam engine....dead or alive....that I ever saw as a kid. This old gal was displayed for many years at the Danbury State Fairgrounds in Connecticut, and I recall playing on the locomotive numerous times when my parents attended the fair. At the time, I had no idea of its significance, but I did notice there was something odd about her rods and wheels. Nice to see her restored and protected. This locomotive is a rare treasure.
