Beautiful shot and great that she is running again. I've been told by almost all UP personnel that I've spoken to that the diesel is present during a steam run only for braking help so that, the hard to come by or build, parts in the braking mechanism of the steam engine are not broken or damaged during a run. The diesel doesn't provide any additional pulling power. The steam engine can easily pull the train all on its own. Now I can add seeing this fantastic engine to my bucket list. Congratulations NS and very fine work. Thank you.

The last step of the 611's restoration process - applying some coal dust and cinders to that nice brand new paint job and ditto to all of the other comments!

I know I am seeing this in 2015, but it looks to me closer to 1955.
