Spring 1998 was the time when the new ADtranz diesels took over all mainline passenger trains from the MLWs. Quite a change. I rode the first revenue train with new power which stalled shortly after the departure. Behind an A-450 class I made my last travel by train to Thessaloniki, listening from the upper berth of the couchette car - right behind the thundering 12-251 engine.
