Outstanding composition. Classic-- diamonds, poling cups, and green flags (cab-forward, no less!)-- what a combination! (So...a local that operated in two sections? Hence the flag?).

Don't know if second section was a train with high-wide load or something like that. This train had a mix of cars typical for the mainline locals of the time, so I assumed that was what it was. In 1972, I knew nothing, had no radio, and had lousy luck with getting info from agents.

Yes! Can't speak to this move but in later years it was quite common to have a 1st and 2nd #45 westbound out of Columbus
