Nice shot, always fun to see non 611 J's in service. The J's sure are and where wonderful locomotives.

Railfans rejoice when they get to see the sole survivor of the 'J' class locomotives (#611). Imagine seeing a whole fleet of 'J' class locomotives roaming the rails back in the 1950's! Thanks for sharing.

The J's are a bread apart. NS should considering investing into the J's heritage. Restore several, put them into excursion service. Would be a wonderful way to preserve railroading and its future! Coming from a small railroad town (short line) its a sad sight to see perfectly good rails cut back and abandoned due to lack of business.

I would echo Grew Up on the GW's comments, were it not for the fact that #611 is the sole survivor of the class. Economics trumps heritage in the board room.
