Nice image Joe. The last time I saw an L&N F-unit (in June 1975) its nose door was open. No way to say good-bye.

I like how this photo shows the human (trainmen) side of railroading. Nice train, nice consist, nice colors! Perhaps a red cooler placed near the door could have been a tongue?

From the looks of the third unit, SD45, it is pitching over rough track. Very common on the E-L and in some places track bolts were missing with only two holding the rail joints together. I probably took more pictures of this railroad than any other. Its a shame they let it erode into oblivion.
