Slowly I turned, step by step, inch by inch. Great shot.

I really like your shooting perspective. This bridge reminds me of the one in the excellent 1941 movie "The 49th Parallel". Perhaps it is the same one.

I'm curious to know if you were able to get this photo without being interrogated by the US boarder patrol. As you can see, this is not a location where one can hang out waiting for a train and not be deemed as "suspicious" by observing authorities.

I was approached by a border patrol SUV during the half hour I spent standing on the bridge (the train was a bit late). When he asked me what I was up to I was cooperative and told him what I was doing and tried to be a bit apologetic for hanging out there so long. After a brief conversation he seemed at ease with the situation and said have a nice day. It wasn't a big deal and was something I expected to happen.

I agree with the other commenters that this is an incredible photo. Congratulations on getting it. Sounds as if the Border Patrol has a soft place for foamers, doesn't it? Let's hope so. More of these vantage points along the Niagara frontier would be nice...as would more Amtrak international service to Canada.
